We operate a ratio of one adult to every eight children and every club has a Supervisor and an Assistant Supervisor and qualified playworkers. We have an extremely low turnover of staff which is fantastic for the children, the team and parents.

We interview all staff, receive two references and every person has a CRB police check.

Over 75% of our staff have playwork qualifications with the remainder either training or due to start playwork training soon.

The NVQ in Playwork is specifically aimed at individuals working in out-of-school work, including after-school or breakfast clubs and holiday clubs. The course is partly classroom based, however there is a strong emphasis on workplace learning and development, and external assessors visit the clubs to ensure that the individuals are meeting the course requirements. The Playwork NVQ is not snapshots of the playworker's work, but a qualification that shows the playworker meets the standards consistently.
