Brunswick Juniors After School Club

The After School club takes place in the school hall at Brunswick Junior School.

Opening Hours

We are open every day that Brunswick Junior is open, from the end of the school day until 6.00pm.

Location

The school hall is really spacious and has direct access onto the field. We also have use of the playground and the adventure area. The After School Club is only for children who attend Brunwick Junior School.

Access

Our entrance is through the fire exit door straight into the School Hall, just follow the path from the car park. There is a bell for you to ring to gain access.

Getting Children to the Club

Children make their own way to the After School Club from their class, where they sign themselves into the club.

Meet The Team

 

Ryan

ryanRyan is the Club Co-ordinator at Brunswick Juniors, and has worked for Class of Their Own since 2008. He has completed his NVQ 2 and 3 in Playwork and a football coaching qualification. Alongside this he works in retail and in the summer of 2015 began a voluntary placement with East Sussex Fire and Rescue.

Ryan takes a fun, relaxed and playful approach at the club and relishes the fact that every day is different, and that through his work his able to have a positive impact on the children's lives.

Jan
Jan joined us in 2014 and is the Assistant Club Co-ordinator at Brunswick Juniors, job sharing with Penny.  Jan is a Teaching Assistant at a School in Brighton during the day and holds a Level 3 NVQ in supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools.  Jan says that she loves working with children and recognises that even the tiniest of moments can have a massive impact – be it mastering loom bands or reading their first whole book independently.  Watching children grow, develop and discover is not only fascinating but it is clear how these times shape the adults to come.

Penny
Penny joined the Brunswick Junior team in 2014 and is a Playleader as well as sharing the Assistant Club Co-ordinator position with Jan.  Penny has a NVQ Level 2 & 3 in Playwork .  Penny has been a Playleader for many years now and loves working with children.  Penny also has a Degree in Theatre & Art so loves to see the creative side to children.
Naoko
Naoko joined Class Of Their Own in July 2014 and brings with her a wealth of experience.  She spends her time working between the Infants and the Juniors and also works in the Breakfast Club.  Naoko has a Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Young Peoples Workforce.

Tallulah
Tallulah is currently travelling and will return to the Club in December.  She has been with Class Of Their Own since May 2015 having previously worked for a bouncy castle company!  She enjoys studying Art as well as being creative in her spare time.  Her interests include music on vinyl and old films.

Chloe
Chloe joined Class Of Their Own in November 2014 having previously volunteered at a Primary School in Brighton.  Chloe currently works 3 days a week at Brunswick Juniors.

Rosie
Is an Inclusion Worker at the Club and her first experience in Playwork was with Crawley Community Arts where she ran Drama Workshops for 5-12yr olds.  Rosie then went on to gain her Diploma in Acting and has since worked extensively in ‘Theatre in Education’ – inspiring her to set up her own Children’s Theatre Company which she took into Schools around London.
Rosie has been working with Class Of Their Own since 2011 and has both her Level 2 & 3 in Playwork.  Rosie is very experienced in working with children who have additional needs and this has become her main focus in Club to ensure that the Club is fully inclusive for all.  Rosie’s hobbies include speaking Russian, dancing her socks off and most recently table tennis!

Rhys
Rhys joined the Brunswick team in 2014 as a Playleader and has recently moved from the Infant site.  He has completed his Level 2 NVQ in Playwork.  He also works at Brunswick Primary School during the day as a TA.

Savannah
Is currently covering Tallulah’s role and will be with the Brunswick team until December.  Savannah joined Class Of Their Own in early 2017 and is also at College studying NCFE Public Services with the hope of becoming a Paramedic.  Savannah volunteers with a local Rainbows and Brownies Club and when she’s not working/studying/volunteering she enjoys roller-skating, climbing, singing and dancing!

Juanita
Holds a NVQ Level 2 & 3 in Playwork and a NNEB Childcare qualification.  She has been working for Class Of Their Own since 2006 and is currently at Brunswick three days a week.  Juanita spends the other two days looking after her nephews.
During her spare time she enjoys reading novels, walking, badminton and eating out with friends.

Mariana
Mariana is an Inclusion Worker at the Club having joined Class Of Their Own in 2016.  Prior to this Mariana worked as a Kids Club Supervisor at Hard Rock Resort Cancun in Mexico for 2 years.

Mariana loves working with children and finds it very rewarding, enjoyable and fun.  She is passionate about seeing them have fun in a friendly and happy environment.  Mariana enjoys doing arts & crafts and loves seeing the children’s creative side as well as their way of thinking.

In her spare time she enjoys a well-rehearsed fitness routine which includes Yoga, Pilates, Body Balance and Zumba!
