Hello this is my very first newsletter and I am pleased to say how lovely it has been being back at Davigdor and meeting all your lovely children.
This term I have mostly spent time getting to know the children and what they would like to do in the club as well as what types of foods they like and dislike for snack along with the types of activities they would like to do, I am very open to any suggestions from you too if there is anything that you would like to see more of in the club then please come and let me know. We have made a few changes and brought more resources for the children and will be offering a wide range of Art activities next term.
Art Activities
We have brought an art trolley for the children which they can help themselves. which gives them the freedom to choose what they would like to do. In the trolley we have pictures for them to colour in along with plain paper pens, pencils, staplers, cello tape, rulers, string etc.
This term we have done cheerio threading, made animal purses, glass painting which we have done on several occasions as the children love it! Junk modelling we have this every week , made treasure maps, wooden spoon people, tissue flowers to name a few, We have not done a lot of messy activities as we have not had any aprons, We have ordered aprons for the children and plan to do a lot of messy activities next term along with some cooking.
We have replenished our small world equipment and are listening to the children in regards to the type of equipment they would like to see in the club. We have brought a new football table and pool table as the children had worn the other one's out! |
Lost property
We are no longer keeping any belongings left at the end of the session, we are returning any named items to the children's peg at the end of every session, unnamed items we are returning to the school's lost property box for you to be able to have a look when is convenient to you.
Being Absent
If your child is going to be absent from the club could you please call or text the club mobile on 07914694464, as we are spending a lot of time looking for children who have either gone home with a friend or been collected by mum or dad, this is giving us less time to spend outside as one 1 member of staff is taken up looking for children.
Well I think that is all for now and I look forward to the new term.
Thanks Bex |
And Finally...Childcare Vouchers and Employer Perspective
In past newsletters we have focussed on how Childcare Vouchers are a good way for parents to save money on their childcare costs. If you are an employer, or a senior manager or a company that does not have a childcare voucher scheme, now may be a good time to investigate operating a scheme.
Childcare vouchers are an excellent benefit to offer parents as it allows them to pay for their childcare from tax free earnings. The schemes are reasonably easy to administer, and can either be administered in house, or via a third party organisation. The benefit to the employer is that the scheme is self financing as the employer saves money on their Employer NI contributions, so whether the scheme is self administered or via a third party, it usually will not cost the employer anything.
We accept any childcare vouchers, all the providers are good, we would not necessarily recommend one over another.
The main voucher providers we currently work with are:-
Care-4
Computershare
Edenred
Early Years Vouchers
Fideliti
Imagine Childcare
Kiddivouchers
Sodexho
