Balfour After School Club

The After School club at Balfour Primary takes place in the Key Stage 2 canteen.

The canteen is an excellent location for our club, it is large, light and airy, and has direct access to the school playground.

In addtion to the playground for our outdoor play, we also have lots of space for indoor play, and we have occassional use of the arts and crafts room.

Our After School Club is open every day that Balfour Primary is open, for children in Reception right through to Year 6.

Junior children make their own way to the canteen where they will be met by our team. Infant children are collected directly from their class and walked to the club by our team.

The club mobile number is:
07795 265 496

The club's Ofsted registration number is: EY452600

Meet The Team

Dani

Our Balfour Club Co-ordinator started her career with Class Of Their Own as a Volunteer at the end of 2013, she then became a permanent member of the team at Balfour in January 2014 as an Apprentice.  She has completed both her NVQ Level 2 & Level 3 in Playwork and hopes to continue her studies with children.

Dani loves working with children and seeing them having fun, trying new things and developing. She says “I still enjoy playing and acting like a big kid myself! It’s great to see the way the kids are in the moment, finding all sorts of ways to play with things that I would never think of!”
Dani enjoys being active in and out of work – dancing, swimming and cycling – and being creative with drawing and painting.

Karen
Is the Assistant Club Co-ordinator.  Karen was previously working at a School as a Teaching Assistant and Midday Supervisor.  She has a NVQ Level 2 in Playwork as well as Paediatric First Aid.  Karen enjoys baking, sewing, gardening and reading in her spare time.
She loves being able to support children in a Play environment where they can enjoy themselves in a safe setting.

Millie
Is a Play Leader at the Club and has been with us since June 2016.  Millie is currently at University studying for a Social Science Qualification to add to her First Aid, Safeguarding and Health & Social Care Qualifications.  Millie loves to dance and has been doing so for over 16 years!
About working for Class Of Their Own, Millie says “I love working here as I get the chance to work as part of a great team that supports and provides the children with a safe, fun place to explore and enjoy themselves.  My job is incredibly rewarding and I take pleasure in every minute of meeting, working and playing with such joyous, energetic children!”

Ella
Ella is a Play Leader at the Club and joined us at the start of the new School year in 2017.  She is currently at University studying Childhood and Youth Studies, before starting this she took a year out of education to work in a Nursery and an After School Club in her hometown.  Ella is very much a bookworm and loves nothing more than getting lost in the pages of a good book.  She is currently trying to get into exercise more and introduce healthier eating into her home cooking!
About working with children, Ella says “Children help you see and experience the world in a different way.  I love working with children because no two days are ever the same!”

Adam
Adam has been with us since October 2016 and is a qualified First Aider.  Adam came to work with Class Of Their Own because he find children’s creative spirits infectious.  He has a Music Production degree and still writes music as well as teaching guitar.  Adam loves gardening and outdoor activities such as surfing and mountain-biking.

Tom
Tom joined us in 2016 having previously volunteered for a non-profit organisation for children needing behavioural support and learning difficulties.  He’s a qualified First Aider.
