Can I have the same babysitter each time I book?
You can request the same babysitter each time you book and we will endeavour to provide you with the same babysitter if you wish. If we cannot provide the same babysitter we will find another appropriate babysitter to suit your family's needs.
I am concerned about leaving my children with someone I don't know
This is an understandable concern and as such we ensure that our babysitters have been through a thorough registration process, have been given relevant training and have been cleared through the Criminal Records Bureau so you can feel comfortable having our babysitters in your home. Many of our babysitters also work at our clubs so in fact you may know or recognise them already. We will try where we can to send babysitters to your home who have already worked with your children. If we are unable to do this we hope you will soon get to know and trust all our babysitters.
Do I have to pay for the babysitters travel?
You are not expected to pay for babysitters travel before midnight, but after this time we recommend that you agree a reasonable sum with the babysitter to ensure that they are able to get home safely.
Why do you charge a membership fee in addition to the babysitters cost?
The membership or one-off booking fee covers all administration including interviewing, training and placing babysitters. This means you are getting a fully qualified babysitter who has experience working with children. As a member you are considered a priority and so we can guarantee you a babysitter whenever you need one.
Is the babysitting service available during the day?
Yes, we can provide one-off and temporary regular day care at anytime out of our after school and holiday club hours. This includes early evenings during the week, after club hours. We offer a very flexible service and will consider any situation, for example walking your child home from after school club or overnight bookings. Please call the babysitting number to discuss your individual needs.
Is there a maximum number of children per booking?
No, although if there are over three children in your household we would consider placing two babysitters for the booking, which would mean you would have to pay for both babysitters. Babysitters will also charge an extra £1 per extra child for bookings before 7.00pm (daytime bookings)
Why do you charge an extra £1 per extra child during the day and not at night?
As many of our babysitters are primarily playworkers they are experienced in providing activities for children of a primary school age. Therefore during the day your children will be having loads of fun and could be taking part in a variety of sports, art or cooking activities. For the babysitter this care becomes even more fun but more challenging for a larger number of children so therefore an extra fee is applied. For evening bookings, it is likely that the child/ren will be in bed for all or part of the time.
Can I meet the babysitter beforehand?
For the initial visit we advise babysitters to arrive at your house half an hour early so that they can meet you and your children and carry out a risk assessment of your home. If you would like a visit from the babysitter at an early stage please let us know but be aware that you will be charged for their time.
Can you provide childcare for children with additional needs?
Many of our babysitters have experience of working one to one with children with additional needs in the clubs, so it is likely that we can offer babysitting for children with additional needs, however, we want to take extra care that the babysitter is properly equipped for each individuals' circumstances. This can be discussed in further detail with the babysitting co-ordinator.
How much notice do you need if I want to book a babysitter?
The booking line is open 10am-6.15pm Mon-Fri and 12pm-5pm on Saturdays. You can book with as little notice as you wish and we will endeavour to find you a sitter but we cannot guarantee a babysitter without 24 hours notice. If you do not book with 24 hours notice you will also be subject to the late booking fee of £7.50. Please note once you have made a confirmed booking you will be liable for the booking fee, even if you subsequently cancel the booking.
