Benfield Holiday Club
The After School and Holiday Club at Benfield will be our first ever Junior run club, which should be fantastic for the children as it will be tailor made to their needs. It take place in the Mobile Classroom in the playground at Benfield Junior School.
The room is newly refurbished and is an excellent base for our club. There is access leading directly into the enclosed playground, so children will have the freedom to go inside and outside as they wish. There are toilets just off the playground. We will be able to use the canteen and hall when they are not in use.
Our After School club is open every day that Benfield Junior School is open for children from Benfield and St Nicholas School. The children will make their own way to the club. Children from St Nicholas School will be met in the School foyer and then walked to Benfield School.
After School Club: End of school day until 6.00pm
We are open every school holiday to junior children from around the local area from 8.00am until 6.00pm.
There is a different theme every day of the holiday and you can book and pay online or download a booking form.

Our entrance is via the gate at the end of the car park and is clearly marked with signs. There is a bell next to the gate, please ring this and we will let you in.

The Team
Carol Goldsmith
is the supervisor at the club. Carol has worked with children for several years in nursery, school and play settings. Carol has an NVQ Level 2 in playwork, and is curently studying for her NVQ Level 3. Carol has 2 grown up sons.

Meet The Team
Each half term we will profile a different individual. This month, meet the club supervisor, Carol Goldsmith
Carol has several years of playwork experience and prior to working at Class Of Their Own, she worked as a nursery assistant, she worked at the charity, Moulsecombe Neighbourhood Trust as a Playworker, as an Individual Needs Assistant at Portslade County Infants where she was caring for a child who could not function in a social environment and was delighted to see the child progress into mainstream school. Additionally she has volunteered at BHiP as a playworker, been entertainments organiser for Gingerbread and been a classroom assistant at Davigdor.
Carol joined Class Of Their Own as a playworker, and since then has worked in the roles of assistant and supervisor and has worked in several of our clubs.
Carol's favourite group activity is table football, and her favourite outdoor game is rugby.
She enjoys the variation that her job provides and is most happy when there are lots of things to do and she is happiest when cleaning or sharpening pencils!
Carol has been involved in some charity work, and set up a Residents Association to deal with child related issues, and secured funding for two childrens' play areas.
Carol is very well qualified and among her lengthy list of child related qualifications are NVQs in Care & Education, NVQ in Playwork, First Aid, Working with Children whose Behaviour Can Be Challenging.
Carol does not work anywhere else, and considers herself to be semi retired.
Asked if she had any sporting achievements, Carol said she had won a hurdles race in 1964!
Carol has 2 grown up sons, one is studying History at the School of African and Asian Studies, and the other is a system analyst in London. Carol is a keen gardener, and when she is not working, Carol enjoys spending time on her allotment where she grows fruit and veg.
