Meet The Team

Almu is the Club Co-ordinator.  She’s Spanish and has been living in Brighton for several years now.  She graduated in American and English studies in Madrid, completing her last year in Germany.  Afterwards, she did a Masters in Teaching Languages as a Second Language, specialising in English.  Almu is also a qualified Teacher of Spanish as a Second Language as well as being awarded the Level 3 Playwork qualification.

Almu has been working with children since she was 18 and has worked in many different educational and socio-cultural programmes and projects.  She loves her job and believes that playing is a very importance and crucial part of a child’s development.

Almu enjoys going out to the mountains, open-air activities, travelling and handcrafts making.

Caroline is the Assistant Club Co-ordinator and joined our team in October 2014.  Caroline has a BA in Fine Art and loves painting and photography.  She has completed her Level 3 NVQ in Playwork and is always looking at ways to learn new skills that she can pass onto the children in the Club.

Maria joined us in May 2013 as a Volunteer and quickly progressed to a paid role.  Maria is originally from Spain where she was a Graphic Designer.  She has always loved working with children and often babysat for family and friends back home.  In her spare time Maria loves being outdoors and you will often find her on the tennis courts, walking or at the Gym!

Naoko joined Class Of Their Own in July 2014 and brings with her a wealth of experience.  She spends her time working between the Infants and the Juniors and also works in the Breakfast Club.  Naoko has a Level 3 qualification in Childcare Young Peoples Workforce.

Juanita h olds a NVQ Level 2 & 3 in Playwork and a NNEB Childcare qualification.  She has been working for Class Of Their Own since 2006 and is currently at Brunswick three days a week.  Juanita spends the other two days looking after her nephews.
During her spare time she enjoys reading novels, walking, badminton and eating out with friends.

Elena is currently on Maternity Leave. Elena joined us in 2014 and she has a Teaching qualification, having previously taught Spanish to Infant children.  She enjoys Playwork and finds that she learns something new every day as each day is different.  Elene find the role rewarding and never dull!
In her spare time, Elena practices massage therapy.

Tallulah has been with Class Of Their Own since May 2015 having previously worked for a bouncy castle company!  She enjoys studying Art as well as being creative in her spare time.  Her interests include music on vinyl and old films.

Savannah joined Class Of Their Own in early 2017 and is also at College studying NCFE Public Services with the hope of becoming a Paramedic.  Savannah volunteers with a local Rainbows and Brownies Club and when she’s not working/studying/volunteering she enjoys roller-skating, climbing, singing and dancing!

Alex is a Playleader at the Club and joined the team in early 2017.  Both Alex’s parents are Teachers so he was naturally drawn to working with children.  Prior to joining Class Of Their Own, Alex volunteered at Lost Cats for 2 years.  Alex has a Degree in Architecture.

As well as being a Play Leader at the After School Club you can also find Kate as a MDSA in the School during the daytime.  Kate has a BA in Humanities and NVQ Level 3 in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning.

Before joining Brunswick Primary Kate volunteered in other Schools and Oxfam.  Kate is Mother to a young daughter.

Nancy is a Play Leader at the Club working 2 days a week whilst studying at University.  Nancy has an Undergraduate Degree in Psychology and in her spare time enjoys running and cooking.

Blanca is a Play Leader at Brunswick Infants and has worked with Class Of Their Own since January 2017.  Before joining Class Of Their Own, Blanca worked as a Childcare Practitioner in Hungary.  She has a Primary Education Degree as well as an Educational Psychologist Degree.  Blanca is also First Aid trained.

In her spare time, Blanca enjoys playing Basketball and attending English classes.
