Brackenbury After School Club

The After School Club takes place in the school hall at Brackenbury Primary.

Opening Hours

Our After School Club is open every day that Brackenbury Primary is open. The club is open from the end of the school day until 6pm.

The school hall has lots of space for indoor play, we also have use of the school playground.

Entrance to the club is directly through the school hall, not the main school entrance. To reach the hall, turn left down the side of the main building and ring the bell outside the hall.

Getting Children to the Club

Infant children at Brackenbury Primary are picked up from their classes by one of our team, junior children make their own way to the club where they are signed in by a member of our team.

St Nicolas Pick Up

Children from St Nicolas meet our team at their meeting point and are walked to Brackenbury School. We have a ratio of one adult to 5 children for this walk.

Meet The Team

Carol is the Club Co-ordinator and has worked with children for a number of years in Nurseries, Schools and Play settings.

Carol has an NVQ Level 3 in Playwork. Carol has been involved in child development for a number of years. Whilst bringing up her (now grown up) sons she studied Child Psychology, worked as a Child Minder, Classroom Assistant and was highly successful in the integration of a child through Infant School on a one-to-one basis. She has worked for numerous child centred charities – both employed and on a voluntary basis – and successfully completed a number of NVQ’s in childcare. These qualifications, along with her life experience, enable her to help children develop and learn within the Club setting.

Louis joined the Club in 2013 as a Playleader and has now worked his way up to becoming the Assistant Club Co-ordinator. Louis did his Work Experience at Class Of Their Own in 2011 and spent a week working at our Clubs, he enjoyed it so much that as soon as he finished his studies he applied for a Playleader role with us. He enjoys all aspects of the After School Club from preparing snack, to face painting, to football and loves getting stuck in!

Katharina joined the Brackenbury team at the end of 2017 and has worked in the UK as an Au Pair for some time now.  Prior to this she has worked in retail for a make-up company as well as for a vegan health & wellness company.

Outside of work Katharina enjoys pilates, travelling, reading and anything musical – she loves to sing!

Prior to joining us Paul worked at various Summer Camps in the UK and USA where he ran various art courses, he is currently studying Fine Art at Brighton.  He is First Aid trained and enjoys interacting with children and helping to make After School Club a fun and safe place for them.
