Southover After School Club

The After School clubs take place in the school hall at Southover.

The After School Club is open every day that the school is open from the end of the school day until 6pm.

The school hall is a lovely large space, with access to the large school playground.

Parents should use the side door by the main entrance. There is a doorbell to use for entry.

Getting Children to School

Southover: Reception Children are brought to the club by their class teacher. All other years will make their own way to the club and be signed in by our staff.

Western Road: All children will be met at Western Road by our team and escorted to the club.

Meet The Team

Shelley is the Club Co-ordinator at Southover and previously managed a florists in Eastbourne before joining us. She’s currently studying for her Level 3 in Playwork and works as a MDSA in Brighton and at a school supporting children with disabilities.
She’s a mother of 3 and a step-mother of 4 children.

Giola joined us in 2017 as a Level 2 Qualified Play Leader and is now the Assistant Club Co-ordinator. She previously worked in a nursery and thoroughly enjoyed building up her knowledge of Early Years education. Of childcare, she says that “seeing a child smile and knowing that you contributed to it is definitely most rewarding”.

Juliette joined the team when the Club opened in September 2016. She currently works at Southover Primary as a Teaching Assistant and also runs a lunch club for the children.  Prior to this Juliette worked at Western Road Primary School and at the YMCA. Juliette loves horses and previously ran riding holidays for children providing riding lessons.

Liz has been with us since 2016, having retired from the National Probation Service in the March of that year.  She has a degree in History and a Diploma in social Welfare.  Since retiring from her full time work, Liz enjoys spending time with her family in the garden, taking an active interest in the National and Woodland Trusts.  She likes music, art and sewing.

Prior to joining Class Of Their Own, Helena was a Primary School Teacher and is currently the SENCO at a Nursery School. Helena has qualifications in Zoology and Animal Behaviour & Welfare as well as her Teaching qualification.  Helena loves working with children as it’s fun, rewarding and different every day.
Outside of work Helena enjoys gardening, reading, jewellery making and fund raising.

Adam has been with us since October 2016 and is a qualified First Aider.  Adam came to work with Class Of Their Own because he find children’s creative spirits infectious.  He has a Music Production degree and still writes music as well as teaching guitar.  Adam loves gardening and outdoor activities such as surfing and mountain-biking.
