Our term-time clubs are located in local schools and are open every day the school is open.
Our Holiday Clubs open 8am – 6pm during school holiday in Brighton, Hove, Lewes, Portslade and Sompting.
All children respond differently to being somewhere new – some children will need support from adults to encourage them to participate, others will come in and start playing.
Our aim is to ensure every child has a great day at the club and we love it when they don’t want to go home at the end of it!
Before the start of each club session, we go through the day’s register. All new children are marked on the register so the team are able to easily identify anyone who has not been to one of our clubs before. We learn your child’s likes and dislikes and note if they have any specific needs.
Children in the reception class fall into our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework.
Each reception child is appointed a key worker. They ensure children settle into the club well, that they feel included in all aspects of the club and support them in developing friendships.
Attending Holiday Club can be a great way to introduce your child to the school environment in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.Find out more
We work on a high adult to child ratios. It is important to us that every child is able to have a brilliant, fun and interactive experience.
Ofsted guidance supports a minimum ratio of 1 adult to 30 children in Breakfast and After School Clubs. We never work to this ratio. To ensure our clubs maintain consistently high standards we (usually, there are of course times when we are not able to cover an absence) work on our own internally set ratios of:
With clubs open 8am – 6pm every school holiday in Brighton, Hove, Lewes, Portslade, Shoreham and Sompting, you are never far from a Class Of Their Own Holiday Club!
Our weekly and daily themes change every holiday, so whether your child attends one day or every day they will enjoy something different.
Class Of Their Own Breakfast Clubs are open from 7.45am until the start of school.
The main focus of the Breakfast Club is the healthy breakfast. This is made up of cereals, toast, fruit, yogurt, juice and water. The children can choose what they would like to eat each morning and our team ensure they eat a nutritious meal.
The children are able to choose what they would like to do before school. They are also able to play outside. What we get up to at Breakfast Club
Our After School Clubs are open every day the school is open from the end of school until 6.00pm.
We work with carefully planned ratios to ensure each child can receive support from our team, so that they can enjoy arts and crafts, group games and sports, or if the children prefer, they will simply observe that the children are safe and having a good time.
Our After School Clubs are relaxed and friendly. Because the children attend on a regular basis, the staff know the children well and are able to plan activities together.
After School Club sessions are typically booked on an ongoing basis, for example every Monday and Wednesday. If spaces are available we are more than happy to accept children on an ‘ad-hoc’ basis.
We provide a healthy light tea half way through the session. Typical snacks may include pitta bread with a choice of fillings, beans on toast, pasta and home-made pizza. Fresh fruit is also provided on a daily basis. What we get up to at After School Club
Parents and their children are welcome to pop into Breakfast Club, After School Club or Holiday Club at any time to have a look around before their first day.
We like you to see us just as we are, and you are welcome to just turn up, you do not need to make an appointment.
